Master Lemon Williams II

Master Williams is a 5th Dan Black Belt, who began his Taekwondo journey September 9th, 1999 under the guidance of 6th Dan Sr. Master Susan Lofquist. He obtained his 1st Dan Black Belt on November 10th, 2001 and achieved 4th Dan master rank on November 10th, 2012 and 5th Dan on April 6th, 2018.

Master Williams has competed in more than 30 tournaments on the state, national and international level with an emphasis in Gyorugi (sparring.) He competed in Gyorugi as the top 4 for the US Team Trials, Gold medalist at the XII Campeonato Open Internacional De Taekwondo in Lima, Peru and Bronze medalist at the Australia National Championships/Australian Open in Canberra, Australia. Master Williams was also a part of the Tae Park Taekwondo delegation in Seoul, Korea in 2005. There he had the privilege to visit the World Taekwondo Headquarters (Kukkiwon) and the then sitting president, the late 9th Dan Grand Master Woon Kyu Uhm.

Master Williams has been the head instructor at the SpartanNash YMCA in Grand Rapids, MI since January 2015. He has since promoted several black belts over the years. During his instruction, his emphasis is on the importance of basics, hard work and being positive members of the community. One of the core principles of his instruction is that all Black Belts have a responsibility to live and embody the five tenets of Taekwondo, both inside and outside of the Taekwondo studio.
